On October 26-27, Kutaisi University hosted the traditional international scientific and practical conference “Current Issues in Socioeconomic Development and Informatization: New Challenges and Perspectives”.
35 Universities and research institutions from7 countries took part in the conference. Associate Professor Kakha Gabelashvili, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences opened the conference and welcomed its participants. He introduced the guests to the conference agenda and its main directions. Serge V. Chernishenko, Professor of Koblenz –Landau University (Germany) also greeted the participants of the conference.
The conference featured plenary sessions by Professor Jiri Hejkrlik, Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague (“Assessment of the economic, social, and legal constraints for small agricultural business development in the Imereti Region of Georgia”), Professor Ioseb Archvadze, Kutaisi University (“Post-Soviet economies after regaining independence (1990-2012)”) and Associate Professor Vsevolod Chernyshenko, National Mining University of Ukraine (“Analysis of development of information system for university management: Experience of National Mining University”).
Plenary sessions were followed by sectional work. 83 papers were presented altogether at the conference and conference proceedings published and distributed among the participants included full translations of each contribution, which will promote internationalization of research.
Many Georgian higher educational institutions took part in the conference. One of the strengths of this event was active participation of expert practitioners and their contributions presenting their perception of current issues in socioeconomic development and informatization.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to summing up the work and it ended with a cultural program for foreign guests.
