From June 13 to 28, 2018, Lika Glonti, the representative of the Erasmus + office in Georgia, carried out field monitoring of the project. The visit showed that progress has been made in this area and the activities of the project participants have been positively assessed.

“We would like to thank the staff of Gordon Academic College of Education (Israel), Kutaisi University, Ilia State University, Shota Rustaveli State University and Tbilisi State University for their contribution and time in the project implementation process,” the program manager – wrote Rossini (RÓISÍN MC CABE) in the report.

It should be noted that the training “Education for Democratic Citizenship” consists of four blocks:

  • Democratic citizenship and human rights;
  • Formation of civic consciousness and different levels of identity;
  • Tolerance and relationship in a diverse environment;
  • Conflict and building of peace.

Within the framework of this project, it was partially piloted, followed by training courses for retraining current teachers. Partner universities conduct these trainings in different regions of Georgia.

In Imereti, the trainers representing Kutaisi University, who took part in the specially designed trainings for them, trained teachers from 10 schools(about 100 participants).  The main focus of the training was the knowledge and skills of new teaching methods.
