On June, 15-16 in the framework of EU CURE project a two-day working meeting at the national level was held at Kutaisi University. The meeting was attended by representatives of all the Georgian members of the consortium:
- Ilia State University (ISU)
- Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
- LLC “Kutaisi University” (KU)
- Samtskhe-Javakheti State University
- Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University
- Civil Development Institute (CDI)
CURE is one of the Capacity Building Projects within Erasmus+ programme, which is coordinated by the Gordon Academic College of Education, (Haifa, Israel). The working meetings in Kutaisi were organized by Ilia State University, CURE project coordinating institution in Georgia.
The main objective of the project is to construct and develop a Multi-Dimensional Program that promotes curricular reform for democratic principles and civic education in Higher Educational Teacher-Training Institutions or Faculties/Departments in Israel and in Georgia. This can be implemented in the following way: developing new pilot courses; organizing training workshops for faculty members and in-service teachers of public high schools; conducting student trainings on leadership and promoting student activities through newly established “Centers for Social and Civic Involvement” in CURE partner universities and colleges.
The main purpose of Kutaisi meetings was to thoroughly prepare Georgian partner institutions for the 4th CURE’s International Consortium meeting which is going to be held in Batumi on 2-5 July, 2018;
The meetings were conducted according to the previously created schedule. The results gained by each partner institutions from the first one and a half years of CURE project were properly evaluated. Besides, some constructive and useful project decisions were made that are going to be discussed at the nearest international consortium meeting.
