The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Kutaisi University visited Spain on a working visit.
On November 27-30, 2023, at the invitation of the Department of Medical Education of Santiago de Compostela University, Tamar Pertaia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Kutaisi University, conducted a training course on problem-based learning.
Problem-based learning involves the acquisition of both practical skills and theoretical knowledge by students under the conditions of solving a specific problem. During the session, Tamar Pertaia discussed all the important components of PBL teaching, starting with the presentation of the patient, ending with his diagnosis and ways of treatment, using the example of a specific case.
The meeting was attended by students, administrative and academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
It is worth noting that the host university is actively planning to implement the PBL method in various academic disciplines.
The sharing of experience and implementation of best practices for the Spanish academic staff will have a positive impact on the development of the faculty, as well as on the promotion of the university and Georgian medical education.
