A chess club was established at Kutaisi University on the initiative of the Student and Alumni Service Center to deepen and promote intercultural relations and organize a tournament.
The club was staffed with both international and Georgian students. Both club members and other interested students participated in the competition.
The student self-government participated in the organization of the tournament. At the end of the competition, the winners were awarded by the president of the self-government, Baia Jokhadze, and the participants who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place were given symbolic gifts.
