Erasmus + Jean Monnet module

The Jean Monnet program aims to expand knowledge about European integration processes through teaching, research and debate on topics related to the history, politics, economics and law of the European Union, as well as the EU's relations with other regions of the world. The main task of the program is the involvement of the European dimension in the higher education system; It was opened in 1989 and got its name in honor of the famous French statesman Jean Monnet, one of the "architects" of the European Union.

Currently, the activities of the program extend to 78 countries, and the educational network includes more than 800 universities. Since 2013, the Jean Monnet program has been integrated into the Erasmus+ program.  Jean Monnet Modules

ERASMUS + Jean Monnet  Module  ERASMUS-JMO-2022-MODULE 101078391  "Europe's Digital Strategy for Future Entrepreneurs and Leaders" 

The overall goal of the module:  to promote the introduction of digital tools in various fields in Georgia through the involvement of students, academic circles and professional groups, through interactive learning and experience sharing.

Objective of module N1  To familiarize young academic staff (students, researchers, etc.) and various professional groups with the digital strategic priorities of the European Union and raise awareness of the importance of digital transformation.

Result  1:  awareness and interest among Georgian students and professional groups about digital ecosystems, digital economy and artificial intelligence will increase.  

Activities N1:

• Winter and summer training courses (winter semester module) Main topics of the module:

  • Technologies of the future: artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud;
  • digital ecosystems and platforms;
  • Possibilities of using the digital strategy of the European Union in the implementation of the economic policy of Georgia;
  • Using the opportunities of the European Union digital strategy in managing the finances of private companies;
  • Regional labor market opportunities in the digital economy.

• Visits to technoparks;

• Conducting courses on project writing.

Objective of the module 2: 

  • The aim of the module is to encourage a dialogue between the academic sector and the top management of various organizations in Georgia about the EU digital strategy.

Result 2:

  • A communication platform will be created, where representatives of the academic sector and various organizations will be involved. The platform will help them to implement digital technologies in their activities by introducing them to the tools of the EU digital strategy.

Activities  2 :

• organizing regular discussions between academic staff involved in the project and representatives of various organizations;

• preparation of the policy document;

• Holding a multi-faceted dialogue between the various beneficiaries of the Jean Monnet network working in the direction of digital technologies in order to share experiences.

• Conducting courses on project writing.
