International Mobility
Kutaisi University cooperates with more than 60 foreign universities for the purpose of internationalization of teaching and learning. Students and academic and administrative staff have the opportunity to benefit from international exchange programs around the world.
Kutaisi University offers students both Erasmus+ fully funded international mobility, as well as co-financed bilateral mobility allocated within the framework of a bilateral agreement with partner institutions.
Kutaisi University LLC implemented international mobility of academic and administrative staff and students in the following universities within the framework of Erasmus+ projects and international credits mobility program:
- Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg (Austria);
- Pedagogical University of Upper Austria (Austria);
- Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands);
- Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland);
- University of Minho (Portugal);
- Vilnius University (Lithuania);
- Canterbury Christ Church University (Great Britain);
- Jagiellonian University (Poland);
- University of Lodz (Poland);
- Masaryk University (Czech Republic);
- Babes-Boliai University (Romania);
- Gordon Academic University (Israel);
- Moffett Institute (Israel);
- Kyrgyzstan Economic University (Kyrgyzstan);
- American University of Armenia (Armenia).
In 2017-2019, 29 employees of Kutaisi University LLC carried out international mobility within the framework of Erasmus+ projects. 12 employees of the administration and 17 persons with academic positions participated in coordination meetings, conferences and training seminars in the direction of civic education, sustainable development and education management.
In the same years, 9 students of Kutaisi University LLC benefited from the international credits mobility program. The duration of mobility was 1 or 2 semesters.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, the following were added to the list of partners of Kutaisi University LLC within the framework of Erasmus+ international credit mobility:
- Wroclaw University of Business (Poland),
- University of Western Brittany, Quimper Campus (France)
- Liberta International University (Croatia).
Academic and administrative staff and students of the University of Kutaisi LLC have the opportunity to carry out international mobility in 19 partner universities based on bilateral agreements. These are:

- Poznan University of Banking, Poland;
- WSB University of Banking in Dabrova Gornica, Poland;

During the 2020-2021 academic year, the students of the University of Kutaisi LLC are staying at Polish and Bulgarian universities on the basis of bilateral agreements.
The selection of students and academic staff participating in the mobility program of Erasmus+ international credits, or in the current mobility scheme based on a bilateral agreement, is carried out according to the “rules for participation in the international mobility program”.
On the basis of bilateral agreement (bilateral) mobility:
Within the mentioned format, the Kutaisi University itself and the partner institution provide co-financing. The geographical area of such international academic mobility, unlike the Erasmus + scholarship program, is not limited to EU member states and the partner university can be located anywhere in the world. Kutaisi University has 19 international partners with whom it has signed a memorandum of cooperation and therefore has the opportunity to carry out international mobility on the basis of a bilateral agreement.
The selection of students and academic/administrative staff participating in the international mobility program of Erasmus+ credits, or in the current mobility scheme based on a bilateral agreement, and the preparation of the necessary documentation for the winners is done according to the rules of participation in the international academic mobility program.
In case of students:
- Students interested in international academic mobility fill out the electronic registration form prepared by the International Relations Service for registration.
- Registered students who fully meet the conditions of participation in the competition are invited by the International Relations Service to the first selection stage, which involves an English language test face-to-face or using remote platforms:
- The student is required to demonstrate knowledge of the English language at the B2 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), in four language competencies: listening, writing, reading, speaking.
- The prerequisite for moving to the next stage of the competition is to score at least 60 out of the maximum 100 points determined by the exam.
- The second and final stage of the selection competition for international student mobility involves an English-language interview, which will be conducted face-to-face or using a remote platform. At the interview, the motivation of the contestants is assessed in terms of academic, professional and personal development.
- A study contract is signed with the winning student , which lists the study courses to be taken at the partner university , as well as their local equivalents, indicating the relevant credits. By signing the mentioned document, Kutaisi University takes responsibility for recognizing the credits accumulated by the student at the partner university after the student's return, in accordance with the scheme described in the document.
- The International Relations Office is responsible for supporting the process of arranging the selection and recognition of study courses by the winning student at the host university, preparing the complete documentation required by the embassy and the host university and delivering it to the addressee in a timely manner; Full briefing of the winning student prior to his/her departure to the host university.
- The winning student, in turn, is obliged to share with the Office of International Relations a copy of all personal documents required for international mobility and, according to the instructions, to fill in the application form(s) required by the host university.
