On June 4 another interesting event was held at Kutaisi University. It was an award ceremony for the winners of university Olympiad “Top Thinker”.
For the second year running Kutaisi University holds an Olympiad for 10th and 11th grade pupils to identify the most intelligent and erudite of them. The winners as well as their class teachers receive a special scholarship during the whole year.
This year the winner of the Olympiad was Irakli Margvelashvili, the pupil of Kutaisi Ltd school #1. His class teacher is Ivane Gokadze.
The university yard was full of people enjoying the celebratory atmosphere, Georgian and foreign music, folk songs and dances. The concert participants included Kutaisi University dance troupe “Abkhazeti” (choreographer Armaz Kipiani), music band “Crossroads”, singers Indira Jgerenaia and Marita Rokhvadze. The presenters Nino Khurtsilava and Avtandil Tsnobiladze, our first-year students helped make the evening even more enjoyable.
