Under EU funded Tempus 530181-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-DE-TEMPUS-SMGR project a University Management IT Center opened at Kutaisi University. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Kutaisi Shota Murghulia, Vice-Governor of Imereti Paata Nadiradze and foreign guests.
The project “Integrated University Management System: EU Experience on NIS Countries’ Ground (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Georgia) – INURE” aims to develop and implement a complex integrated information management system at the universities of Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Georgia, based on European experience and on the PC Universities ground.
One of the outcomes of the two years of the project implementation is a document on “Methodological foundations of development and implementation of information systems in higher education institutions” (working copy). This document presents the main demands of university management with regard to information systems and it incorporates the experience of all the working groups involved in the project (Germany, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia). The methodology will assist representatives of the countries in developing and implementing up-to-date integrated systems of university management. It can be adopted by senior officials of ministries of education and specialists of relevant departments, heads of various university services and IT units.
Also, the methodology presented in the document will interest IT services involved in developing and implementing computerized systems in the sphere of education.
