Successful Speeches of Our Students at the Summer School in Kherson

Within the framework of European TEMPUS Programme “Cruise-T” project coordination meetings were held in Kherson (Ukraine) on September 6-13. The Summer School has been conducted for the successful students of the project partner universities in parallel with the project coordination meetings.

The Summer School participants were students from the following countries: Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, Bulgaria and Slovakia. Kutaisi University (KU) was represented by 4 students:

  1. Mamuka Sagrishvili - the third-year student;
  2. Lia Salukvadze - the fourth-year student;
  3. Levan Berikashvili – the third-year student;
  4. Vazha Purtskhvanidze - the second-year student.

The key findings from the Inbound Tourism Survey conducted by Kutaisi University students this year were interestingly and clearly presented by Mamuka Sagrishvili and Lia Salukvadze. The field researches had been carried out at main destination points of Kutaisi and its surrounding areas, at Kutaisi airport and hotels in 3 phases from February to August of this year. More than 1000 foreign tourists had been interviewed using previously designed questionnaires.

English lessons and training workshops as well as cultural and entertainment activities were carried out in the framework of the Summer School. The training workshops were divided into 4 sections according to the thematic areas:

  1. Service and Quality of Service;
  2. Social Webs and IT in Tourism;
  3. Development of Tourist Destinations;
  4. Eco-tourism.

The training workshops were attended by both students and lecturers. After completing the training sessions the students from each workshop had to summarize the issues covered during the training and represent the major deliverables to the broader audience.

We are so proud to announce that summary presentations of two training-workshops out of 4 workshop sections were carried out with the participation of our students. The deepest sympathy and thunderous applause followed the convincing speeches of Mamuka Sagrishvili (section 2) and Lia Salukvadze (section 3) at the conference hall.

It should also be noted that the activities of our university students were eye-catching in every aspect of the Summer School events, and their speeches were meaningful and successful.
